Cena vs. Rollins Cage Match Announced For MSG Event

WWE seems to be upping the ante more and more for their upcoming Network special on October 3rd. Hailing from the world famous Madison Square Garden, the main event of the card will be a United States Championship match between John Cena (c) and Seth Rollins in a steel cage.

While WWE is sort of pushing it with the number of times they can pair these two guys together in matches over recent months, these guys typically put on one heck of show. Their most recent encounter at Night of Champions was easily a **** matchup and the best bout of the night. As long as the quality is on that level, you won’t hear me throwing out Orton vs. Sheamus levels of outcry about them being booked together too often.

In other news, Randy Orton will take on Sheamus at his event.

Wait, seriously? Are we being trolled at this point. Surely WWE is aware at how much people groan when these guys are put together. And I think they’re both fantastic wrestlers, it’s just that they’ve been in way too many matches with no real reason for anyone to care. There should’ve been more of an attempt to establish why these guys want to fight each other 800 times in a row about 400 matches ago. Oh well, at least the New York crowd will have some fun with this one.

Here is the full card so far. The Intercontinental Championship match looks especially intriguing…

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins (WWE US Championship Cage Match)

New Day (c) vs. The Dudley Boyz (WWE Tag Team Championship Match)

Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show

Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho (Intercontinental Championship Match)

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

I’d imagine that a women’s match will be added at some point to this, but it’s a pretty full card so far. The Beast in the East special from Tokyo was only 2 hours long and 6 or 7 matches is plenty for that amount of time.

So what matches are you looking forward to? Banter with me about it in the comments below.
