One whether or not The Ascension are going “too far”: I haven’t seen enough of them on RAW to make any kind of declaration. I hope that they make it big and their introduction may be being over thought by some. We aren’t supposed to like/embrace heels, right?
Totally agree with Ross on this one. The Ascension are being disrespectful to some of the all-time greats and in this era where everyone is a ‘smart’ fan who likes rooting for the bad guys might have struck a genuine nerve with the audience.
On rumors that he’s negotiating with Lucha Underground: “Word on the internet that I’m “negotiating” with Lucha Underground which isn’t accurate whatsoever. I enjoy their show but I’ve had zero contact with any one there except Chris DeJoseph, who taped an upcoming Ross Report Podcast, (drops March 24) and Matt Striker who I worked with at Wrestle Kingdom 9.
What a shame. While I think Striker and Vampiro are doing a perfectly fine job in Lucha Underground, having more JR announcing is always a good thing.
Thoughts on Marc Mero:I don’t recall having any significant issues wish Mark Mero over the years. He always seemed like a decent man to me.
Mero was on Russo’s podcast, The Swerve, recently and apparently told a story that was highly emotional on the V.I.P. end of the interview. I’m not a subscriber so I missed out. I still like his free stuff, though.
Check out the first episode of Curb Stomp Radio!
He ain’t called Good Old J.R. for no reason, eh? 🙂
I’m all for The Ascension still. I think their change of gimmick has been questionable… But it’s not bad by any stretch of the imagination. I’m all for them.

Yeah, I was indifferent to them until everyone started freaking out that the were comparing themselves to the legends. Then I took notice.

Well, I’d say I was more or less singing their praise when they were the loooong as heck tag team champions.
One interesting parallel from their NXT days: They started off almost in similar vein. They fought jobbers – and they looked freaking dominant.
I’m not keen on JBL’s bad mouthing… However, from JBL the character’s PoV: I can dig it. I want to see him getting involved with them in some way, even if they attack innocent JBL and he gets saved by a face. Anything! 😛
